Founded by the multidisciplinary production company Kraft Und Licht it was conceived as an urban escape surrounded by nature within city limits for art, music, food, and community gatherings. Young artists and emerging talent are invited to showcase their creativity in a warm, intimate, and inclusive space where visitors are encouraged to wander, wonder, and discover.

Nestled between a warehouse and train tracks, the spacious venue features three areas, a cocktail bar, beer garden, restaurant, radio-streaming studio, and various art installations that transform the garden at night into a spectacle of lights. Hintergarten’s crown jewel is a grand yet intimate outdoor area adorned by shipping containers, with many nooks and crannies to explore. The expansive program includes exhibitions, concerts, dance events, festivals, radio broadcasts, conferences, movie and documentary nights, live jam sessions, dinners, private events, vintage clothing and vinyl markets, and much more. There’s plenty on offer to make all your senses tingle.
After two years of covert operations, Der Hintergarten has finally stepped out of the shadows and into the limelight after securing their license. Now, the sky is the limit for this playground where the curious at heart thrive, and creativity knows no bounds.
